Mexican
Energy Cleanse
(Limpia)

The Mexican energy cleanse, or limpia, comes from the ancient tradition of curanderismo, which blends indigenous Mesoamerican wisdom with Christian prayers. The Limpia is a down-to-earth practice that uses everyday materials from the kitchen to bridge the mundane with the supernatural. Eggs, water, herbs, salt, simple things that, in the hands of the curandera, embody powerful medicine.
Many of us practice smudging as part of our daily routine to keep ourselves and our space light and clear. A limpia works at a different level, extracting deeper seated heavy energies like susto (fright), stress, curses, and distorted energies gathered from people and places. Over time, these energies can weigh on us, leaving us feeling tired, overwhelmed, or simply not quite ourselves. Through the limpia, these energies are extracted and released. Your spirit is lifted, your energy begins to flow again, and you may feel lighter, calmer, and more present in their body afterward. You can have a limpia regularly, to keep things on check, or if you ever feel stuck or depleted.
People who are exposed to absorb energy from their clients, may benefit from a limpia more often to stay clear and balanced.

How it works
Sessions are available in person, live online, or remotely. During the ritual, I recite traditional prayers in Spanish, calling in the spirit of the curanderas and asking that you may be cleansed of any harmful energy. After the limpia, I share about what was cleared, guidance on how to keep your field clear, and any messages that came through.
With the remote option, you don’t need to be present at all, I perform the full ritual on your behalf and send you detailed notes afterward. You can even be sleeping while I do the work.
If you choose a remote limpia, please still select a time on the booking calendar. After booking, email me to let me know it’s a remote session so I can prepare the space and perform the cleanse away from my laptop.
My Story
I learned the art of curanderismo over the years by living and working alongside Mexican traditional doctors from different ethnic groups . Curanderismo is the art of healing in the Mesoamerican tradition. A generic term to describe healers and shamans, curanderismo embraces a vast range of practices and prayers aimed at safeguarding the individual and the community. Since curanderismo is a purely oral tradition, each healer is a universe apart, and works both in feeling and in knowing, integrating what has been transmitted to him by his teachers with what life presents to him along the way. In fact, it is said that curanderos learn to bring out their own "medicine". Some curanderos specialize in specific fields, such as those who cure with medicinal herbs and are great experts in botany; those who mend bones (los hueseros), the “parteras” who assist women with conception, childbirth or abortion; others who channel the energy of the stars and ancestors, and finally those who deal strictly with "limpias" or energetic cleansings of various types. The majority of curanderos, however, embrace more than one discipline, thus giving curanderismo many facets, both scientific and supernatural, embracing the syncretism between the ancestral indigenous spirituality and the Christian religion.
