Write Your Myth

A Samhain Retreat

Findhorn, Scotland
28 October – 3 November 2026

Welcome to the fairy tale, where the heroine is you !

A week-long retreat in the heart of the Findhorn Ecovillage, beneath a great deal of Scottish sky, surrounded by woodland, river, dunes and sea, a landscape where nature herself becomes part of the story.

We gather at Samhain, when the veil thins and we enter the mystical space between worlds.

Through automatic writing, shamanic journeying, dreamwork and deep listening, we follow the threads of your soul’s path: the experiences, encounters, discoveries and turning points that have shaped your story.

We move through timelines, mythologies, ancestral lore, symbols and visions, gathering what emerges and bringing it onto the page. Little by little, a deeper narrative begins to reveal itself, and you begin to write your own evolving myth.

There will be ceremony at Samhain, space for gentle healing, walks in nature and imaginative journeys to nourish the creative child within you. There will also be celebration, laughter, unhurried days and, of course, good chocolate!

Write Your Myth is not about producing a memoir or writing the latest bestseller, unless that happens to be what you are working on. You do not need to be a writer. The raw material is you and your life, quirks and all.

This retreat is simply the enchanted space where you finally get to meet the protagonist of your own story.

Stitching together the magic and the mundane, you invite the witch into the room and let her loose on the page.

Looking at the mythology of your life, you may discover the opening lines of what comes next, and you’ll reach the other side of All Hallows with renewed direction, insight and lightness. Because playfulness is part of the story.

Imagine a small group, a slow pace, oracle cards, nature spirits and endless skies.

Imagine a whole week with a notebook, a pen and a drum. Just sprinkle a little fairy dust on the path and... voilà!

The flow of the week

We start at 3 pm on 28 October and close at 1pm on 3 November. Full days run from 10am to 6pm, with a two-hour lunch break at 1pm and tea breaks morning and afternoon. Evenings are your own, apart from Samhain night, when we celebrate together.

Daily sessions include automatic writing, shamanic practice, dreamwork and fun creative activities.

We’ll walk across the Findhorn landscape: the beach, the woodland, the estuary and the magical gardens within the ecovillage. Activities take place both indoors and outdoors.

The programme revolves around shared space as well as solo time.

Each day we’ll dig a little deeper to unearth the gems of your story, working together in circle, but also on your own, always supported by the spirit of the land.

In between our practices, there will be time to rest, journal and enjoy life in the Findhorn community.

Nature is the muse and the healer as you write your myth.

The detailed programme of activities will be shared upon booking.

The Park Ecovillage Findhorn in northern Scotland is one of the most extraordinary communities in the world, founded in the 1960s on the radical idea that humans can work in conscious co creation with nature and spirit.

The mystical Scottish landscape that surrounds it adds to the magic. But don’t take my word for it. Come experience it for yourself.

Automatic Writing

Automatic writing is the ancient practice of letting the divine speak to you with no filters, transcribing without thinking, so you may receive authentic and important messages. It helps you step aside from the logical mind and open the door to spirit’s guidance, engaging your creative genius, your intuition and the invisible thread that connects you to the living world.

Automatic writing will be a thread running through the week, helping your story find its way onto the page.

Shamanic Practice

The shamanic tradition offers many practices for deepening our relationship with the living world and the unseen.

Shamanic practice will be the framework that holds the retreat. Throughout the week I will use a drum, my voice and a rattle to gently induce deeper states of consciousness, to journey and retrieve messages, and to meet your spirit guides. There will be ceremony for the ancestors at Samhain. We will use shamanic tools to cooperate with our night dreams as well, adding richness and support to your daily explorations.

During the week I will offer a soul retrieval ceremony in a group setting. Soul retrieval promotes healing by bringing home parts of ourselves that we may perceive as lost and which need to be reintegrated within the body and the energy field. It helps restore wholeness, vitality and peace of mind.

Some Testimonials

“I loved the Automatic Writing workshop, the creative prompts, the diversity of activities, learning to be open to whatever come through. It helped me get out of my mind and be surprised. I loved the sense of community in the group.” Giselle, US.

“Cinzia’s retreat was one of the most magical and spiritual experiences I’ve ever had the privilege of participating in. Every element was thoughtful and meaningful: the guided visualizations, the ceremonies, the time in nature, the circles, the oracle cards, the drumming (oh, the drumming!). Cinzia’s calming presence and balanced approach of wisdom & humour allowed for the pace and programming to be adjusted so each participant’s needs were met. Her guidance through the magical spaces in Avalon, the White Spring, the Chalice Well, the Tor, the Abbey, gifted me with a deeper knowledge and understanding of my own spiritual practice. I left feeling refreshed & full, forever changed & yet somehow more myself. Thank you, Cinzia.” Rosalyn, Canada

“If you are reading this and wondering whether you should go on that retreat. The answer is ‘yes’. You will not find a better guide than Cinzia.... Your personal guides probably know this and have led you to this review to quell your questioning or doubt. Cinzia’s knowledge of the terrain, both geographical and spiritual is a gift that you should accept. She held space for our group to share a journey and also walk our own internal paths to meet with whatever was waiting for us. Personally, I met aspects of myself that were old, yet unfamiliar...and also made space for the new and unknown. I was able to completely relax into the experience and let myself be whoever I needed to be, rather than who was needed for awhile. I met a group of wonderful people who provided additional dimensions to the trip. None of us had the same experience, but all of us shared and could drink from the security and deep knowledge that was offered by Cinzia. Do it. The terrain is vaster than you think, the resources more abundant than you can imagine and it is a pilgrimage that you may need to make. Choose well, you will thank yourself later.” Michel Wahome, UK

Cinzia, the Retreat Leader

Writing is my passion. I have been teaching automatic writing for ten years, and time and again I have witnessed how the practice of channelling your own wisdom and bringing it onto the page creates an alchemical meeting between body and spirit. It can deepen your sense of self, connection and belonging.

My work sits at the intersection of shamanic practice, storytelling and the creative life. I love teaching and guiding groups and individuals as they explore new ways of being in relationship with nature and the spirit world.

I have been visiting the Findhorn Ecovillage since 2000 and, more recently, had the privilege of living in the community for two years, where I also offered my courses. In 2025 I brought one of my retreats to Findhorn, and this year I’ll be returning with an exciting new one.
